Huawei has shifted away from the traditional, spider-like aesthetic of modern networking hardware with its latest release. The newly introduced Router X2 Pro features a clean, rectangular enclosure modeled after a closed book, measuring 191.7 by 51.1 by 141.1 millimeters and weighing 475 grams. This compact form factor allows the device to blend into home interiors rather than demanding to be hidden away behind furniture.

Beneath the book-inspired exterior, the router packs advanced wireless capabilities, including support for Wi-Fi 7+ networking technology and AI Mesh systems. The hardware relies on Huawei's Lingxiao 760 series chipset paired with four high-performance signal amplifiers and integrated antennas. The device also incorporates dynamic narrowband technology and NearLink connectivity, which the company claims reduces lag by up to 80 percent and improves network stability to maintain reception through multiple walls.

For personalization, the unit features a replaceable magnetic side panel that accommodates various decorative covers, including options with animal designs or custom 3D-printed finishes available in colors such as Earthy Brown, Oak White, Stone Gray, and Spruce Green. Users can also utilize the Smart Life application to analyze home floor plans for optimal equipment placement.

Pricing for a single unit is set at roughly 588 yuan, translating to about $88, while a two-pack bundle costs around $166. Additional decorative casings are priced at approximately $15 each, giving households an affordable way to upgrade their home network infrastructure without sacrificing interior design aesthetics.
