Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Buds On, marking the company’s entry into the growing open-ear and clip-on wireless audio segment. The new earbuds were officially announced on October 1, 2026, and feature a distinctive open-ear design that sits around the ear instead of sealing the ear canal like conventional in-ear earbuds.

The Galaxy Buds On are equipped with Samsung’s TwinBoost speaker system and Audio Leakage Reduction technology, designed to deliver clearer sound while reducing audio leakage to people nearby. The earbuds are powered by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform and feature a Class-D amplifier for audio processing.

Battery life is another highlight, with Samsung claiming up to 9.5 hours of playback on a single charge. The earbuds also feature three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit based on bone-conduction technology, combined with machine-learning algorithms to improve voice isolation during calls.

Samsung has also integrated several AI-powered features. The Galaxy Buds On support Gemini Live, allowing users to interact with Google's AI assistant through compatible Galaxy devices. Other features include Quick Voice Memo and Head Gestures, giving users additional hands-free controls.

The Galaxy Buds On will first go on sale in South Korea on October 27, 2026, priced at KRW 299,000. Samsung has confirmed a wider global rollout, although the exact India launch date and Indian pricing have not yet been announced.

With their clip-on form factor, AI integration and open-ear listening experience, the Galaxy Buds On could become an interesting alternative to traditional earbuds for users who want to stay aware of their surroundings while listening to music or taking calls.
