Rugby League World Cup 2026 action gets underway as England faces Tonga at HBF Park in Perth. Brian McDermott steps in as the new head coach for England, bringing notable selection changes such as starting NRL star AJ Brimson at full-back and handing an international debut to Wigan Warriors winger Zach Eckersley, while leaving Mikey Lewis out of the squad.

Meanwhile, Tonga enters the match ranked fifth in the world, seeking redemption after a narrow 20-18 loss to England in the 2017 semi-final.
