Traditional headphones often miss a crucial element of live music: the physical sensation of sound waves moving through the air. Audio brand Sonic Lamb is tackling this limitation with its upcoming Beyond headphones, which utilize specialized Impulse Drivers to transmit low-frequency vibrations directly through the wearer's skin. Scheduled for a US release in November 2026, the $249 device aims to recreate the visceral feeling of being at a live concert without relying solely on traditional acoustic drivers.

Unlike standard over-ear headphones, the Beyond model features built-in "wooferpads" powered by proprietary haptic technology capable of handling frequencies as low as 2Hz. These vibrations are precisely synchronized with the audio track, following both the timing and the overall dynamics of the music. Users can fine-tune the experience using ten different intensity levels and custom profiles tailored specifically for music listening, movie watching, and gaming sessions.

Beyond the tactile impulse system, the headphones boast robust specifications including Bluetooth 5.4, support for high-resolution codecs like LDAC and aptX Lossless, Bluetooth LE Audio, and multipoint connectivity. They also offer wired options via USB-C digital and 3.5mm analog audio, alongside an optional Beyond Link dongle for low-latency gaming setups. Delivering up to 40 hours of battery life on a single charge, the new headphones omit active noise cancellation while focusing heavily on physical immersion and diverse connectivity.
