Foxconn is aggressively scaling its operations to capture roughly half of the global market for artificial intelligence servers over the next two years. Chairman Young Liu outlined the ambitious roadmap during a media interview, noting that the Taiwanese manufacturer currently holds about a 40 percent market share. Company executives expect that figure to tick upward to 45 percent next year before hitting the 50 percent milestone.
The push into advanced computing hardware comes alongside a broader strategy to expand domestic manufacturing capabilities in the United States. Liu explained that the company intends to move further upstream within the supply chain, supplying critical data center infrastructure rather than focusing solely on final assembly. Given the higher operating expenses associated with American manufacturing, initial efforts will concentrate primarily on high-margin product categories such as specialized server racks.
Market demand remains exceptionally strong, with current production capacity fully booked for at least the next 18 months. Orders are currently driven predominantly by major cloud computing providers and AI developers, while widespread adoption by government agencies and traditional enterprises has yet to materialize. Foxconn estimates that servers, racks, and related hardware could account for up to 65 percent of its total revenue within three to five years, supported by an annual capital expenditure allocation ranging between $3 billion and $5 billion for artificial intelligence initiatives.
