Decentralized social network Bluesky is pushing deeper into artificial intelligence with a major update to its experimental Attie platform. Unveiled at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, the new functionality enables creators to build websites, polls, quizzes, and games without needing traditional software development skills. Company executives describe the approach as social vibe coding, a method designed to let communities build interactive digital experiences together rather than relying on solo coding sessions.
The newly empowered Attie tool operates directly on the AT Protocol, the decentralized framework that powers Bluesky and other applications within the Atmosphere ecosystem. When users log in to build, Attie connects directly to their existing atproto identities and analyzes public Bluesky profiles to suggest customized project ideas. Creators have the flexibility to integrate their own artificial intelligence models or choose from available open-weight options to generate their sites and interactive applications.
A core advantage of the updated platform is built-in audience distribution. While solo AI coding projects often struggle to find users, applications built through Attie immediately tap into Bluesky's network of 47 million registered accounts. Bluesky leadership views the feature as a way to foster smaller, intimate social experiences among friends while working to re-engage users and support developers ahead of upcoming private data rollouts.
