DC Studios has locked in its lead voice talent for the upcoming animated feature Dynamic Duo, securing Mason Thames to voice Dick Grayson. Peter Safran, co-head of DC Studios alongside James Gunn, confirmed the casting during a recent interview, noting that Thames campaigned enthusiastically for the role before delivering an impressive audition.
The film takes a distinct visual approach by pairing traditional puppetry with computer-generated imagery overlays. Directed by Swaybox co-founder Arthur Mintz, the production utilizes real cameras to capture physical action sequences, a technique Safran likens to the industry-shifting impact of early Pixar projects. Gunn and Matt Reeves are attached to the project as producers.
Thames will star alongside Logan Kim, who is slated to voice Jason Todd, with veteran actors Lee Pace and Steve Buscemi also rounding out the ensemble cast. Dynamic Duo is scheduled to debut in theaters on September 22, 2028.
