Samsung has launched its new Infinite One-Way Cassette AC in India, bringing together air conditioning, AI-powered controls and ambient lighting in a premium ceiling-mounted design. The new AC was officially announced by Samsung India on October 5, 2026, and is aimed at premium residential and commercial spaces.
One of the most unusual features is Samsung's Ambient Edge Lighting system. The AC offers nine lighting modes inspired by the natural day-night cycle, with Warm, Natural and Cool options available at different intensity levels. A Smart Lighting Intensity mode can automatically adjust the brightness to better match the surrounding environment.
The cooling system uses Samsung's upgraded Wide WindFree Technology, which distributes air through approximately 17,200 micro-holes. The company says this is designed to deliver more even, draft-free cooling rather than the strong cold airflow associated with conventional air conditioners. The unit also has an ultra-slim 13.8cm depth, helping it blend into modern interiors.
Samsung has also added built-in Wi-Fi and SmartThings connectivity, allowing users to control the AC remotely through the SmartThings app. Features include Voice Control, Energy Monitoring, Usage Pattern analysis, Personalised Cooling with AI Comfort Mode, Welcome Cooling and Pet Care.
For air quality, the Infinite One-Way Cassette AC comes with a Copper Anti-Bacterial Filter. Samsung says the filter can help reduce certain harmful bacteria by up to 99%, based on its cited testing, while also helping maintain the cleanliness of the heat exchanger.
The AC is available in Split and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) configurations, giving Samsung flexibility to target both premium homes and larger commercial environments. The company is essentially turning the traditional AC into a connected interior technology product rather than just a cooling appliance.
