US Search Trends Shift Toward Super Intelligence Following Executive Order

Public interest in artificial intelligence vocabulary is shifting inside the United States, according to recent Google Trends data. Domestic search queries for the phrase 'super intelligence' have experienced a threefold spike following the signing of Executive Order 14434, titled 'Inaugurating the Age of Super Intelligence.' While the rest of the world continues to rely on the traditional terminology, the new phrasing has quickly gained traction across the American public.

The shift follows a strong push from the White House regarding preferred nomenclature. In a recent post on Truth Social, Donald Trump declared that anyone continuing to use the term 'artificial intelligence' instead of the administration's preferred alternative would be considered 'the enemy.' The rebranding effort aims to cast the technology in a more positive light compared to standard industry definitions.

Despite the high-level push to alter public lexicon, implementation across federal digital infrastructure remains mixed. Reports indicate that while some federal materials have adopted the new terminology and the 'SI' abbreviation, official web domains such as ai.gov continue to retain their original addresses. Meanwhile, federal leadership has rejected calls for tighter regulatory guardrails on the technology, framing rapid development as a crucial priority amid global competition.
