After nearly two decades specializing in data storage accessories and connectivity hardware, Orico is making a bold move into the personal computer market. The company has officially introduced the Obook15, marking its very first entry into the laptop space. Aimed at students, early-career professionals, and content creators, the new notebook relies on robust processing architecture to carve out a niche in the mainstream productivity segment.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor featuring eight cores, sixteen threads, and a boost clock reaching up to 4.7GHz. Graphics duties are handled by the integrated Radeon 680M GPU. Orico has paired this setup with LPDDR5 memory running at 6400MT/s, offered in 12GB or 24GB configurations. Storage options include PCIe 3.0 drives scaling from 256GB to 1TB. Crucially, the laptop incorporates an empty M.2 2280 slot that supports up to 4TB of additional PCIe 4.0 storage for future upgrades.

The hardware is housed within a chassis measuring 356.5 x 232 x 19.35 mm and weighing 1.8 kg, featuring an aluminum alloy lid and base. A 15.6-inch matte IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate, complemented by 5mm thin bezels and a 1MP camera equipped with a physical shutter. Thermal management relies on a dual-fan setup and two heat pipes designed to sustain a 45W rating, preventing thermal throttling during intensive tasks. Furthermore, the laptop integrates an AI assistant named XiaoAo, designed to streamline device control and workflow automation.

Preorders for the Obook15 are currently underway, running through October 23. The base configuration normally starts at $689.99, but early buyers can secure a 15 percent discount that drops the entry-level price to roughly $586.49 alongside a bonus gift. Available in silver, pink, and blue colorways, the notebook ships with Windows 11 Home preinstalled.
