How to Stream Dark Comedy Phony Online from Anywhere

Streaming audiences are preparing for the debut of Phony, a new coming-of-age dark comedy and mystery series arriving on October 20. The plot centers on a young man named Sonny, played by Sam Nivola, who wakes up from a car accident and slowly becomes convinced that his mother and high school principal, portrayed by Connie Britton, is an imposter. Sonny must navigate convincing his friends of this bizarre reality across an eight-episode season directed and written by creators including Nick Paley, Michelle Badillo, and Lacey Jeka.

Viewers in the United States can watch the two-episode premiere on Hulu, with subsequent episodes dropping weekly until December. International audiences outside the US will be able to stream the series simultaneously via Disney Plus. Subscribers who find themselves traveling abroad during the broadcast can utilize a virtual private network service like NordVPN to securely connect to their home region and access their usual local streaming subscriptions.

The first two episodes land on October 20, featuring pilot direction by Nick Paley followed by the second episode titled Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Subsequent weekly chapters include Reverse Cuckoo Situation, Vibes Are Rancid, and House of Dog, rounding out a cast that also features Meera Syal, Grace Brennan, Mahaela Park, Maliq Johnson, and Colter Lee.
