Home security hardware usually relies on passive observation or wide floodlights to illuminate a yard, but Baseus is taking a more aggressive approach with its latest release. The newly announced PrimeSentinel U2 Pro features a dual-camera system paired with a motorized spotlight designed to actively track trespassers. Available now for preorder on Amazon at $280, the device is scheduled to begin shipping to customers in early November.

The hardware configuration splits functionality across two distinct lenses. The upper unit is a fixed 3K-resolution camera equipped with an 8x digital zoom, providing wide context of the monitored area. Positioned directly below is a secondary camera housed alongside the spotlight, capable of mechanical pan-and-tilt movements. Using dual passive infrared sensors combined with onboard AI recognition, the spotlight projects a sharp rectangular beam onto detected individuals and follows their movement in real time.

According to technical specifications provided by Baseus, the spotlight can track people walking at a light jogging pace from distances between three and eight meters away. For faster targets, the mechanism can follow sprinting individuals at closer ranges or track vehicles moving up to 19 mph at an eight-meter distance. While the tracking behavior leans into a psychological deterrent factor, the hardware also includes standard security mainstays such as a built-in siren, two-way audio, and color night vision.

Powering the unit is a built-in battery supported by an included 3W solar panel, which the manufacturer states can replenish a full day of power with just 40 minutes of direct sunlight. The device boasts an IP65 dust and water resistance rating for outdoor durability. For local storage, the camera supports up to a 512GB microSD card and operates without a mandatory cloud subscription plan, offering person, vehicle, and pet detection out of the box.
