Apple has officially confirmed its third product showcase of the season, sending out invitations for a press and creator briefing titled 'Pro and Tell' scheduled for October 28 in Los Angeles. While Cupertino has kept official hardware details under wraps, supply chain reports and industry leaks strongly suggest the event will focus primarily on major updates to the Mac and iPad lineups.

The expected highlight of the briefing is a heavily redesigned MacBook Pro, rumored to introduce the first touchscreen and OLED display to a Mac. According to recent reports, these new 14-inch and 16-inch models could feature a thinner, lighter chassis with narrower bezels and a hole-punch camera cutout incorporating a Dynamic Island. However, these premium machines are reportedly expected to stick with current M5 Pro and M5 Max processors rather than jumping immediately to the newer M6 architecture.

At the same time, the M6 chip is widely expected to debut in other desktop and laptop configurations following its initial introduction in August. Strong candidates for the M6 upgrade include the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac, which has not seen a refresh since its M4-based release in 2024. The M6 integration is slated to deliver significant CPU and GPU performance gains alongside a dual 16-core Neural Engine designed to accelerate local artificial intelligence tasks.

Beyond the Mac ecosystem, the compact tablet sector is also due for attention. The iPad mini is rumored to receive its first-ever OLED display upgrade, shifting away from traditional LCD technology. Performance-wise, the new mini could adopt the A20 Pro chip alongside a relocated front-facing camera, thinner bezels, and potential water resistance features. Final confirmation of these devices will arrive when Apple hosts its targeted media briefing next week.
