Hollywood continues its deep dive into the xenomorph mythology as a fresh Alien movie officially moves into development. Industry trades confirmed that Aaron Guzikowski, who previously collaborated with Scott on the science fiction series Raised by Wolves, has been tapped to pen the screenplay. While Ridley Scott will serve as a producer on the project, studio executives have not yet named a director to helm the feature.

This upcoming project diverges from the narrative path of 2024's Alien: Romulus. Instead of following up on Fede Álvarez's recent installment, this new film connects directly to the storyline of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Those two earlier prequels were directed by Scott himself, exploring the origins of the franchise's terrifying creatures and the synthetic character David, played by Michael Fassbender.

Although studio announcements have not yet confirmed Fassbender's official return for this installment, the plot trajectory heavily implies his involvement. Scott previously hinted at picking up the narrative threads left dangling after Covenant, where the rogue android assumes a god-like persona. Production details remain scarce, but with a writer attached and Scott driving the creative direction, the film is expected to take shape rapidly.
