Hardware maker VZMORE has introduced its latest compact desktop, the iX9 Max, entering the mini PC market with a heavily connected machine. Measuring just 5.31 x 5.19 x 2.27 inches, the aluminum chassis manages to squeeze in an impressive total of 14 data and A-V ports alongside its internal components.
Under the hood, the system relies on Intel's Core Ultra 9 185H mobile processor paired with 24GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory and a 1TB solid-state drive. Priced at $949—or $899 with an active discount code—the machine features a vapor chamber cooling design that allows the 16-core CPU to sustain a 65W power profile while operating under 38 decibels. The built-in processor, originally launched in late 2023, includes an integrated eight-core Arc GPU and an NPU rated at 11 TOPS.
The extensive I-O layout includes dual 40Gbps USB4 ports supporting DisplayPort 2.0 alt mode, four 10Gbps USB-A ports on the front panel, a USB 2.0 port, two HDMI 2.0 outputs, dual 2.5GbE Ethernet jacks, and a side-mounted SD 4.0 card reader. Notably, the unit lacks a front-facing USB-C connection and limits its video outputs to HDMI 2.0 rather than the newer HDMI 2.1 standard. While the processor falls short of modern Copilot+ AI requirements, the hardware package offers a quiet, highly connected desktop alternative for users prioritizing physical port availability.
