iQOO has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, in China, and the device brings an impressive combination of gaming-focused hardware, a massive battery and flagship-grade cameras. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm process, and is paired with iQOO’s dedicated Q4 gaming chip for enhanced gaming performance. An 8,500mm² vapor-chamber cooling system helps manage temperatures during demanding gaming sessions.

The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 AMOLED display with 2K+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The LTPO panel supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, while brightness can reach up to 2,800 nits in high-brightness mode and up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness. The display is designed particularly for gamers who want smoother animations and responsive gameplay.

Battery life is another major highlight. The phone packs an enormous 8,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. iQOO has also included a direct-power feature designed to reduce battery stress during extended gaming sessions.

For photography, the iQOO 16 gets a triple 50MP rear-camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera with OIS. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front camera.

Other features include 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage, Android 17 with OriginOS 7, Wi-Fi 7, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and IP68/IP69 protection. The iQOO 16 starts at CNY 5,999 in China, while its India launch is yet to be officially confirmed.
