Horror fans will step back into the shoes of the masked killer Johnny when IFC Films and Shudder release In a Violent Nature: Part 2 in theaters on February 12, 2027. The upcoming sequel was officially announced during Shudder's New York Comic Con panel, following a surprise premiere at Fantastic Fest for select audiences.
The first film subverted traditional slasher tropes by telling the story entirely from the point of view of its silent, murderous protagonist. Directed by Nate Wilson and Chris Nash, with Nash returning as the screenwriter, the sequel picks up immediately where the original left off. Ry Barrett reprises his role as Johnny, continuing his relentless rampage.
According to the official press release from IFC Films and Shudder, the plot follows Johnny as his violent path leads him to a summer camp. The narrative focuses on a young, outcast camper forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends during an end-of-season party. Filmmakers promise that Part 2 will expand on the killer's lore and push the boundaries of extreme kills even further.
