Francis Ford Coppola is refusing to let his ambitious 2024 passion project fade away quietly. Following a summer re-release, Megalopolis is heading back to the big screen on October 24 at Reading International Inc. cinemas across the United States. The upcoming theatrical return aims to give audiences another shot at experiencing the polarizing Roman-history-inspired epic in a traditional cinema setting.

Attendees at the upcoming screenings will receive physical hard copy letters written by Coppola himself. The event will also feature a livestreamed Q&A session with Francis Ford Coppola and second unit director Roman Coppola, allowing viewers to text questions before, during, or after the film. Additionally, the movie's interactive live audience segment will make a comeback at select locations, adding a rare theatrical gimmick to the viewing experience.

Megalopolis stars Adam Driver as Cesar Catilina, an architect capable of stopping time who envisions building a utopian city called New Rome. His ambitious plans face stiff opposition from Mayor Franklyn Cicero, played by Giancarlo Esposito, while a romance blossoms between Cesar and the mayor's daughter, Julia. After spending decades in development hell before Coppola self-funded its production, the movie divided critics and struggled at the box office upon its initial release.

Despite a mixed commercial debut, the film's distribution strategy is shifting toward periodic theatrical engagements rather than a standard home-video rollout. Cinema chains and fans can expect additional screenings to pop up on dates such as New Year's Day, keeping the independently backed sci-fi feature in rotation for theatrical audiences looking to catch Coppola's singular vision.
