Bethesda Game Studios has officially confirmed that the next installment in its long-running fantasy role-playing franchise will be called The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel. The announcement arrived during a video presentation celebrating the studio's 40th anniversary, featuring a brief update from creative director Todd Howard.

The short teaser trailer stops short of showing actual gameplay footage. Instead, the camera pans across a desert landscape of sand before revealing a glowing scroll and the official title. Diehard fans who spent years analyzing subtle clues and lore hints finally saw their theories validated regarding the game's official subtitle.

Accompanying lore descriptions from the studio point directly to the region of Hammerfell as the primary setting for the upcoming adventure. This aligns with community speculation that has persisted ever since the initial teaser trailer was shown back in 2018. Despite the official title and setting reveal, players will have to exercise patience.

Bethesda indicated that development is still ongoing behind closed doors. The studio acknowledged that it will be quite some time before additional gameplay details, trailers, or a concrete release date are ready to be shared with the public.
